Hence I cannot be silent and indeed I ought not be, about the many blessings and great grace which the Lord has designed to bestow upon me

Hello,

Let me introduce myself, my name is Will and I am the store manager at the Plainwell Salvation Army Family Store. After working in the food industry and retail, I started working for the Salvation Army in October of 2010 as a sales clerk and cashier. After working for the Salvation Army for about 6 months I was promoted to the local management team and after some time I took the manager's position here in Plainwell.

I have learned a lot working here at the Salvation Army, but one of the biggest things I learned was how the donations given help those in recovery reclaim their lives. Every part of the Salvation Army, small or large, is for a great cause.

I stay pretty busy after work, spending time with my supportive family and friends. If we are out bowling or sending time at the movies, we just have a wonderful time. I just started volunteering at a local theater and really enjoying this new adventure.

I would like to invite you to visit our store at 1269 E. M-89 to say hi to myself and the whole management team. Our shelves are stocked and ready for your browsing.

Beneficiary of the Month Sonya

After doing the something over and over and accepting a different result, Sonya realized that her life was in complete chaos. Being broken down and in bondage to her addiction something had to change. So the choice was made to come to the Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center (ARC).

Since coming to the ARC, Sonya has started putting her spiritual life together. The programs were far more than what she thought they would be. It was not just another program. It had given her freedom that was not anticipated. The ability to love others for whom they are, not what you want them to be. This new attitude also opened the doors to a new found love and respect to give a new lease on life. Sonya stated, "Before I came into the ARC, I did not care about myself, or anyone, but to know that "God does not make junk." We all have a purpose in life..."

Working in the warehouse, sorting through the clothes, hanging and placing on the store floor for our customers to purchase, and now working in the call center setting up donation pick-ups, Sonya has learned flexibility in the work place and being open to change.

Focusing on her well-being, and spiritual life, this award was presented to her unexpectedly. "Unbelievably surprised that people noticed that God is amazing to me..." she said,"...To God be The Glory!"

Although Sonya loving to win a good game of domino's. She looks forward to being in the lives of her family. Now that she is letting go of those old places, thing, and people that were in her life, she will have time to be part of her kids and grand-kids life.
