I was so honored and surprised when they announced that I was the beneficiary of the month of April. To think that only a few months ago, I was lost in my addiction of drugs and alcohol. Feeling very depressed and hopeless, I was looking for happiness in my addiction. Instead, I found my life spinning out of control.
I came to The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) hoping for change, and change is what I found. Since I have been here I feel I have made some great progress. I starting working in the family store, straightening and putting out new items. Shortly thereafter, I started working in the call center, scheduling donations for pickup. I was amazed at how much care, support, and concern people have for The Salvation Army ARC and what they do. I thoroughly enjoy working and talking with the donors that call in their donations.
Without The Salvation Army and their rehab program I would not be where I am now. Filled with hope for the future and a restored relationship in the Lord, I now know I can move forward in a life without addiction. Through God's grace and the tools I have learned in the program, I am now able to have a positive healthy relationship with my four children and my grandchild again.
