2018 State of the City

Thank you for joining us at this year's State of the City! On November 1, Rancho Cordova Mayor Linda Budge delivered the annual State of the City Address to a packed audience at City Hall. Mayor Budge highlighted the top 15 successes of the year in Rancho Cordova. This year's event included the largest art show of the year at City Hall that featured local Rancho Cordova artists, plus an art auction, artist reception and musical performance by the Cordova High School Choir.

We would like to thank the community for your outpouring of support in the wake of the death of Rancho Cordova Police Department (RCPD) Officer/ Sacramento County Sheriff's Department Deputy Mark Stasyuk. 

Residents, local businesses, and community organizations delivered food, cards, flowers, and tied blue ribbons around trees in a show of support for our fallen officer. We thank you for your compassion and support. 

Voting in the November 6 Election? Here's What You Need to Know.

The Sacramento County Voter Registration and Elections Office has mailed ballots for the November 6, 2018 election that you should have already received. To vote in the upcoming election, fill out your ballot, sign it, and return it by mail, at any Ballot Drop Box, or at any Vote Center. Rancho Cordova City Hall, 2729 Prospect Park Drive, has a Ballot Drop Box and will be a Vote Center from November 3-5 from 9 AM-5 PM and on November 6 from 7 AM-8 PM. 


Text 9-1-1: Call if You Can, Text if You Can't

The Rancho Cordova Police Department (RCPD), in partnership with local law enforcement and fire agencies, have announced that you can now send a text message to 9-1-1 from your mobile phone or handheld device. Call if you can - text if you can't! Learn when and how to text 9-1-1

Now Open
Jas Laser Tag, Sacramento region's biggest laser tag arena, has officially opened in Rancho Cordova and is located at 9823 Old Winery Place, Suite 6. Rancho Cordova is also now home to Fit Body Boot Camp, which is located at 3039 Kilgore Road, #140.

Stride55, an indoor cycling, TRX, and Yoga studio will be opening shortly and is located at 4036 Sunrise Boulevard, #150.  Code Ninjas, the new coding technology-teaching business, has announced it will be opening soon in Rancho Cordova at 3187 Zinfandel Drive, Suite 3. Also, Sourdough & Co will be opening a new location in Rancho Cordova soon that will be located at 2823 Zinfandel Drive.

Barrel District Experience Recap
Rancho Cordova residents and people from all over the region attended the Barrel District Experience, a kick-off event hosted by the  Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce. Attendees visited nine locations including six breweries, two distilleries, and the region's only meadery. Each Barrel District member location offered tastings, food pairings, and a limited edition inaugural glass and giveaways. 

New Hotels Coming to Rancho Cordova
Homewood Suites Hotel by Hilton is now under construction at the southwest corner of White Rock Road and Quality Drive, to be followed soon by TownePlace Suites by Marriott at 11212 Point East Drive. These are the first hotels built in Rancho Cordova since incorporation. 

Rancho Cordova Resident to Walk PGA Tour

Rancho Cordova resident, Chloe Maples, will walk alongside PGA pros for the final rounds of the PGA tournament on November 3 and 4 in Las Vegas to represent Northern California Shriners Hospital. After the final put, Chloe will stand in the winner's circle with the tournament champion, Shriners leaders, and kids from other Shriners Hospitals for Children. The hospital's prosthetic team designed new legs for Chloe over the years - each one crafted to suit Chloe's active lifestyle, including her passion for dance. Read more

Free Trees+ Program Plants Trees at Three Rancho Cordova Schools

The City of Rancho Cordova, the Sacramento Tree Foundation and SMUD partnered with the Sacramento City Unified School District to plant 27 new shade and fruit trees at three Rancho Cordova schools, including George Washington Carver High School, Abraham Lincoln Elementary, and A.M. Winn Elementary. The tree planting at George Washington Carver High School featured a 10-tree grove to commemorate the school's 10th anniversary. 

What's Happening at the MACC?

Anne Frank Art Exhibit
Residents, students, and people from all over the region came to the MACC in October for the Anne Frank Exhibit to learn about the history of Anne Frank, attend free workshops, watch a documentary, and hear first-hand from survivors of the Holocaust and Japanese Internment Camps. The event was made possible by the Cordova Community Council and the City's Community Enhancement Fund. 

Ukraine in Rancho Cordova

During a trip to the United States, officials from the Ukrainian government stopped by City Hall to meet with City Council Members and were presented with a key to the City from Rancho Cordova Mayor Linda Budge. 

Now Accepting Applications for Youth @ City Council

Do you want to impact your community? Network with Rancho Cordova leaders? Gain leadership skills and learn about city government? Apply now for the Youth @ City Council program! Youth @ City Council is a civic engagement program for Rancho Cordova youth ages 13-18 years old that is run by Pro Youth and Families and made possible by a grant from the City's Community Enhancement Fund. Applicationsare due by November 29.  Learn more

Folsom Lake College's spring semester is right around the corner and is offering an extensive list of general education, university transfer, and personal enrichment classes on campus and online starting the week of January 19, 2019.
