Labor Support Skills to Promote Vaginal Deliveries Workshops
It has been a year since FPQC launched regional trainings on skills to support vaginal deliveries! These trainings are now 1-day workshops open to any obstetric nurse, physician, or midwife in Florida.

“Doing the best for our patients”: Statewide NAS Initiative Launches
The  Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Initiative , the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative’s (FPQC) latest infant-focused project, kicked off on Thursday, November 8, 2018.

PROVIDE Mid-Project Meeting Draws National QI Experts
45 Florida hospitals are involved in Florida’s Promoting Primary Vaginal Deliveries (PROVIDE) Initiative , which seeks to reduce the number of women who deliver infants by cesarean section. In September 2018, initiative hospitals and special national guests attended a collaborative meeting in Orlando.

FPQC Engages Hospitals to Address Maternal Quality Improvement
Two trainings on obstetric hemorrhage and pregnancy hypertension were held in Jacksonville, FL.

Hospitals Work to Improve Birth Certificate Accuracy
BCI’s purpose is to improve the accuracy of birth certificate reporting for health care quality improvement and public health purposes. The current phase of this initiative launched off in July 2018.

Access LARC Meeting Focuses on Implementing Immediate Postpartum LARC Procedures
This project is aimed at increasing access to a new contraception choice for women. The hospital teams were joined by representatives of Medicaid managed care plans, Healthy Start, the Department of Health, and the March of Dimes.
