All are welcome to meet in the parish hall after Wednesday evening healing service to be part of a conversation about how we at Trinity Church can more fully live into our calling as Christians by becoming more inviting to our community, more welcoming to those who venture through our doors, and better able to connect newcomers into the life and mission of our parish. A light supper will be provided at 6:15, followed by the workshop session.

For more information, Contact Ann O’Bryant at the church. Purchase and reading of this book is not required to participate in the series on Wednesday night.

Stewpot News!
It was a great year at the Stewpot and we are thankful for the financial and volunteer support of this generous community!

Over 108,000 hot meals were served in 2018. One of our busiest days of the year was Christmas day, when 370 meals were served. Our expenses for the year totaled a little over $106,000.00, which is 100% funded by donations from churches, community groups and individuals. Most of the food served is donated through canned food drives, Hunters for the Hungry meat donations, and excess from restaurants, catering and parties. We receive USDA food from the Mississippi Food Network and purchase large quantities at low prices from MFN.

Due to the generosity of the community we were able to complete several building maintenance projects and purchase new equipment. Cement was donated and the potholes in the parking lot have been filled. A new hot water heater and an industrial size rice cooker were purchased. A large chest freezer was donated. Our air conditioning, vent hood and large cooler all received maintenance and repairs. The largest project this year involved plumbing work to locate, dig up and clean an old grease trap and to clean out the sewer line from the Stewpot bathrooms to the city’s main line. In 2018 we added a church to our Sunday volunteer rotation and added twelve new meal delivery volunteers.

We are very thankful for God’s blessing and for the faithful support of so many!
Wishing you peace, health and happiness in 2019!

Empty Bowls - Sunday, Feb. 17 - Tickets On Sale Now!
On Sunday, February 17, 2019, an Empty Bowls event will be held at Natchez Pottery to benefit the Natchez Stewpot. Empty Bowls is an international project that aims to fight hunger community by community. The Natchez Stewpot has been serving meals to the needy of our community for over thirty years, and currently serves over two hundred people a day, every day of the year.

Local potters and pottery students have made bowls, “empty bowls,” which will be filled with gumbo and served between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm at Natchez Clay, 101 Clifton Ave Those who purchase a ticket and attend the event will select a handmade bowl and enjoy a simple meal. For those not wanting to stay and eat, take-out containers will be available. The bowl will be yours to keep as a reminder of the empty bowls in our community and the world.

Tickets for the event are $25.00 and are for sale at Natchez Coffee Company.  All proceeds go to the Natchez Stewpot to help feed the hungry in our community.

A Prayer For This Week
O blessed Lord, you ministered to all who came to you: Look with compassion upon all who through addiction have lost their health and freedom. Restore to them the assurance of your unfailing mercy; remove from them the fears that beset them; strengthen them in the work of their recovery; and to those who care for them give patient understanding and persevering love. Amen.
