Read to a Child Metro Detroit had an exciting kickoff to the 18-19 program year.  We are very pleased to announce that we were awarded a $40,000 grant from United Way for Southeastern Michigan with support from General Motors! The grant will enable us to grow our regional operations and enable more children to participate in the Lunchtime Reading Program in the Metro Detroit area.

We are also expanding our partnership network by engaging volunteers from the Council of Supplier Diversity Professionals (CSPD), Institute for Supply Management  (ISM), Microsoft and Priority Health Volunteers from these wonderful companies have supported our kick off events and engaged in our book drive. Thanks to their efforts along with the amazing contributions of the student council at Hamilton Elementary School in Troy, we were able to collect over 500 books to support our program.
