"Visual Fine Arts Faculty Show" will be displayed in The Gallery at Three Rivers beginning on February 6.  The opening reception will be held Wednesday, February 6 from 5:30-7:30 pm. 

The exhibition runs through March 15, 2019.

Three Rivers Named a 2019-2020 Military Friendly School
Three Rivers is pleased to announce that it has earned the Bronze 2019-2020 Military Friendly® School designation. Each year, the prestigious list of Military Friendly® Schools is provided to service members, veterans and their families, helping them select the best college to receive the education and training needed to pursue a civilian career.

To earn the Bronze Military Friendly® School designation, Three Rivers met thresholds for Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Loan Repayment, Persistence (Degree Advancement or Transfer) and Loan Default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.  Read more here.
Three Rivers Community College Receives $95,018 Rebate for Energy Efficient Lighting Upgrade
After a multi-year process, Three Rivers has completed an LED lighting upgrade throughout the campus and was awarded a rebate of $95,018 by Norwich Public Utilities through their Lighting Retrofit Program. Chris LaRose, Acting General Manager of Norwich Public Utilities, presented the check to Mary Ellen Jukoski, President of Three Rivers Community College. Read more here.

Early Childhood Legislative Breakfast a Success
Professor Sheila Skahan orchestrated the The State of Early Childhood in SECT Legislative Breakfast on January 25. The conversation between legislators, childcare providers, and families was moderated by Merrill Gay, Executive Director of the Early Childhood Alliance. The conversations touched on the impact of raising the minimum wage, parity among early childhood funding streams, access to preschool, and challenges relating to background checks. 
Super Saturday Assists 86 Students
Super Saturday on January 12 was a success! Among many other things, 86 students were serviced with 68 registered, and 18 placement tested. Jammin' 107.7 did a live broadcast from 9 am to 12 pm and featured 8 faculty, staff, and student interviews. The radio presence added a fun positive vibe to the day. Thank you to all faculty and staff who assisted with Super Saturday.
Enrollment Numbers reach 3,577
Staff in student services have been working for weeks to bolster enrollment numbers. Currently there are 3,577 registered students. Numbers are not considered final until February 14, and students are still registering so numbers may climb even higher! 
Pamela Williams appointed Acting Director of the Library
Pamela Williams, Reference Librarian at Three Rivers, has been named Acting Director of the Library. 
 
Pam has worked at the College for the past nine years as a Reference & Instruction Librarian. She has a thorough understanding of all the services provided by the College library and is a certified Alma Administrator who is deeply involved with the different functions of this new integrated library system. In addition to her role as Reference and Instruction Librarian, she oversees systems, inter-library loans, acquisitions, and troubleshooting cataloging as needed.  Pam provides thoughtful guidance and appropriate direction not only to library personnel but to students who seek her assistance.
