Safety Catch of the Month - Mike Medina, Security
During a patient watch, Mike observed the other patient in the room had slurred speech and could not raise her arm. He immediately alerted the clinical staff. It was determined that the patient was having a stroke.

Because of Mike's situational awareness and alerted others, tPA was administered within four minutes.
Robotic Surgical Team Holds Meet & Great Breakfast
David Kurz, MD, Urology, Thomas Hackett, DO, Gynecology Oncology, Sergey Grachev, MD, General Surgery, and Steven Lowry, MD, General and Colorectal Surgery at the Robotic Surgery program breakfast.

Members of the Medical Staff were invited to a breakfast on September 12 to learn more about Community Medical Center's Robotic Surgery program. CMC has achieved accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation. A Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery accreditation distinguishes CMC from other facilities by providing the highest quality of care to its patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation. CMC's program was the first of its kind in the region and is staffed by highly skilled surgeons with over a decade of experience in robotic surgery procedures. This accreditation was made possible thanks to the dedication and skill of the surgeons who are part of our Robotic Surgery program.
