Sad News of the passing of David Alperstein

Maccabi Victoria Hall of Fame Member and Life Member of the Maccabi Squash Club, David Alperstein was the heart and soul of the Maccabi Squash Club for over 35 years, holding the position of President or Vice President for many of these years. He recruited Victoria’s top Jewish squash players thus enabling the Club to field a State 1 team, which was considered by some to be the highest ranked Jewish Sporting Club ever.

David’s other credentials included being Chairperson for Squash at 8 Maccabiah Games, MAI Chairperson of Sport for 5 years, Assistant /Team Manager at 5 Interstate Carnivals as well as Carnival Manager.

David also competed at 8 Maccabiah games and 2 Pan American Games where he won 3 gold medals as well as 3 silver and 3 Bronze. David played approximately 100 games of Football with AJAX, and won 2 premierships as Coach during his 7 years of coaching Ajax little league footy .

David was very excited to be getting involved with the new Maccabi Victoria Archives Project.

David will be greatly missed and remembered always by the Maccabi family.
May his Memory be a Blessing.
