SCCS 6th GRADE AT CAMP STORER
 
This week, SCCS 6th grade students attended Camp Storer in Jackson, Michigan. Camp Storer is a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience outdoor science education in a Christian atmosphere. Miss Howman and Zahara even made a visit on Monday to visit the students!

SMCC HOMECOMING PARADE, GAME AND FESTIVITIES
Please join us for the 2018 SMCC Homecoming Parade tomorrow, September 21. The parade will leave Sts. Peter and Paul School parking lot at 5:30pm and will head down Hayes Avenue to Strobel Field. The Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned before the Panthers take on the Lakota Raiders at 7:00pm. After the game, all SMCC Alumni are invited to the Top Side at the Cameo. Pizza and beverages will be provided, and a cash bar will be available. 
 
LAST DAY FOR A CHANCE TO WIN $5000

 It only takes one ticket to win! Tomorrow, September 21, is the last day to purchase tickets for the $5000 Gold Rush Raffle. The winner will be drawn at halftime of the SMCC football game tomorrow night. Tickets are $1 and may be purchased at school. Please call 419-627-9422 with any questions.
 
VICTORY DAY 2018
Victory Day returns for the fifth year to Kalahari Field at Huron Memorial Stadium on Saturday, September 22, from 1:00pm-2:30pm. The Huron and St. Mary Central Catholic High School varsity football teams, cheerleaders, and marching bands are co-hosting a special event for children with severe learning and physical disabilities. Participants will be partnered with a Huron High School or St. Mary football player or cheerleader who will serve as their mentor for the day. Each child is provided with a full game day experience and given an opportunity to run or catch a pass for a touchdown. Please join us for this wonderful event.
 
DRESS CODE REMINDER
Just a reminder that Monday, October 1 is the start of regular dress code. The warm weather option will no longer be in effect.

PICTURE DAY
Picture Day is Friday, September 28. If you still have your student's order form from earlier this month, you may still use it. If you already placed an order online, it will transfer into our new date; it is not necessary to resubmit your order. New forms will be distributed for those who need them. Three-year-old preschool students will have their picture day on Thursday, October 25.

 
PANTHER VOLLEYBALL GAME TIME CHANGE
The JV Panther Volleyball game on Tuesday, September 25 versus Danbury will begin at 5:30pm.

CARDS FOR VETERANS PROGRAM

Written Inspirations LLC is excited to announce the Kickoff of their 3rd annual Cards for Veterans Program. They have a goal of delivering 2500 cards with handwritten messages to various Veterans Homes around the United States and donating $2500 to the Veteran Benefit Funds. Businesses and individuals can support Veterans by purchasing cards, and SCCS students will be coloring and signing them. Help Written Inspirations reach this goal by November 11, 2018. MUFFINS WITH MOMS
Please join Mrs. Mohr and Mrs. Stower's 4-year-old classes, Mrs. West and Mrs. Strauser's CUB classes and grades K-5 for Muffins with Moms on Friday, September 28. Stop by anytime between 7:15am - 8:00am with your student in the cafeteria. Mrs. Mohr and Mrs. Stower's 3-year-old classes' event will be held on Thursday, September 27 in the cafeteria from 7:15am-8:00am. If mom is unable to attend, another adult is welcome to join. Hope to see you there!

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SCHOLARSHIP
The Knights of Columbus Ohio Charity Foundation has opened their annual $1000 high school tuition scholarship. Students must follow guidelines listed here. Applications are to be postmarked no later than November 15, 2018.

EIGHTH GRADE PARENT MEETING
There will be an informational meeting for all eighth grade parents regarding the trip to Washington, DC on Tuesday, September 25, at 6:30pm in the PPC.

HOMECOMING DANCE TICKETS
Saturday, September 22, SMCC will host the Homecoming Dance in The Kinzel Center from 7:00pm-10:00pm. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door, for students in grades 9-12. Tickets may be purchased during lunch.
