| September Community Service - Storm Drain Marking |

Make a difference on the National Day of Service!
Come learn and help educate Renton residents in pollution prevention techniques.
We'll mark storm drains with "Only Rain Down the Drain" decals, test your stormwater knowledge, and distribute educational materials to the public. Water, snacks and t-shirts will be provided.
Please wear closed toed shoes and bring an appetite for a BBQ lunch at Liberty Park after the service project!

| Engineers without Borders - Kickball Tournament |

The Puget Sound Professional Chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB) is putting on a kickball tournament to raise funds for their ongoing projects.
The YMF is planning to enter a team so if you
are interested in participating and/or organizing the team, please contact Jared Nakamoto
. The YMF will be covering the entry fee so all you will have to do is show up and help support a great organization!

| Sept. Hike with the Tacoma-Olympia Younger Members Group |

The Tacoma-Olympia ASCE Younger Members Group (YMG) looks forward to joining Seattle's younger members for a hiking trip in the Snoqualmie Region.
The two sections plan to meet at 9:30 AM at one of the following trailhead locations:
- Snow Lake and Gem Lake (10.0-miles roundtrip, 1,800-ft of elevation gain, campsites established)
- Rachel Lake (8.0-miles roundtrip, 1,600-ft of elevation gain, campsites established)
- Teneriffe Falls (6.0-miles roundtrip, 1,420-ft of elevation gain, campsites nearby)

This will be a great time to get to know some fellow civil engineers in the Tacoma-Olympia and Seattle areas! The more the merrier, so feel free to invite friends and family of all ages. Carpooling to and from the hike will be organized at a later date. Please indicate when registering if you plan on camping or if you have an issue with members bringing their dogs.

Business development is a key component in the CE field, and the strategies in this session will help you to improve your business development skills, and increase your value to your firm.

Anthony Fasano is the founder of the Engineering Career Coach website and two podcast including The Civil Engineering podcast, which have been downloaded over 2 million times. He found success as a civil engineer at a young age and now helps engineers to do the same. Fasano is the author of the Wiley published best-selling book Engineer Your Own Success: 7 Key Elements to Creating an Extraordinary Engineering Career. Fasano also authors a blog on engineering careers and leadership for The American Society of Civil Engineers.

The Executive Forum is an annual event sponsored by the Seattle ASCE Younger Member Forum that provides young engineers and students with an opportunity to meet prominent individuals holding leadership positions in private consulting firms, public agencies, construction companies and minority and women-owned businesses in the Seattle area.
At the Executive Forum, a group of panelists discuss their career paths and experiences, provide insight into future developments in the civil engineering field and offer inspiring advice to young engineers. Attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions of the panelists and network with engineers from other companies.
