Always in Season: A Toolkit for Local Food Practitioners

The Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) is pleased to announce the release of their new resource, Always in Season: A Toolkit for Local Food Practitioners.

Through Canadian Agricultural Partnership funding, OFA, its partners, and Wilton Consulting Group developed a toolkit for communities to guide them through potential activities, key performance metrics, funding opportunities, and ways to collaborate to support the agri-food sector. Through interviews with stakeholders across the province, OFA learned of many innovative approaches to supporting the agri-food sector, and ways communities are helping their producers sell more local products and encourage agri-tourism.

To learn more and access the toolkit, visit https://ofa.on.ca/AlwaysinSeason.

Join the OFA for a webinar on Thursday August 20, 2020 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. to learn more about the toolkit and how you can support and celebrate your local agri-food sector. Please register here: https://alwaysinseasontoolkit.eventbrite.ca.

OFA is proud to partner on this project with the Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Alliance, Greenbelt Foundation, South Central Ontario Region Economic Development Corporation, Northern Ontario Farm Innovation Alliance, Greenbelt Fund, Meat and Poultry Ontario, Rural Ontario Institute, Food and Beverage Ontario, Rural Agri-Innovation Network, Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers’ Association, Ontario East Economic Development Commission and Farm and Food Care Ontario.
Feeding Your Future: Connecting Ontario’s Agri-Food Workforce

The Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) has launched an initiative to address the unique workforce challenges and opportunities in the agri-food sector. To keep Ontario’s food supply chain strong, employers along the agri-food value chain need support to recruit and train workers for in-demand jobs across the sector. Feeding Your Future, a Canadian Agricultural Partnership funded project, is working to help agri-food employers connect with job seekers during COVID-19 and beyond.
