Pastor Grant Applehans
"M I S S I O N  T R I P  S U N D A Y"

Gentle reader,
In baptism each one of us is called to be a part of something bigger, to be part of the kingdom of God and follow Jesus in his mission in this world. We're on a discipleship Adventure!  Living into this adventure is often a challenge, and a joy! Come this Sunday to celebrate the mission we all share and the way in which some of our youth and adults lived out that mission this summer in New York. Come hear of God's love for you and listen for his call to action. Come and imagine where God may be calling you! It may just change your life!

Looking forward to seeing you there!
Pastor Grant

BIBLE 101 CLASS

Last Sunday of a two-series event.
EVEN IF YOU MISSED LAST SUNDAY, please join us!

Sunday, September 23rd at noon.  See You There!

You have questions! Pastor Grant has some pretty good answers!

Have you ever found yourself looking at a Bible quote And a billboard or somewhere else out in the world or hearing something at church and wishing you knew more? As the new year begins, Pastor Grant will be hosting a two session Bible 101 class.

Ask your questions, get some answers! Using Maps video and visuals of all kinds, Pastor Grant will walk you through who wrote the Bible, some of the major characters in it, and the over arching story lines that wind all the way through it.

Class will be directed by the questions and interest of those involved. Come and engage this book and your curiosity around. Come grow your confidence in working with this central part of our faith. Come and join the conversation that is going on ... "I am with him through our holy Bible!"

SUNDAY'S at 6:30 pm
Join others as we explore together various books of the bible.  We will be finishing the book of Romans and then decide what book to focus on next.

This is a great opportunity to share historical facts, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of the bible and its different books.

LOCAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

You are invited to join Wyoming Elementary's Reading Buddies!

Reading Buddies is a program where individuals go into Wyoming Elementary School and help early elementary aged children one-on-one with their reading. If you have any questions or want to hear more about their experience, please call or email Holly Aastuen at 651-757-7849 or [email protected]. Reading Buddies is slated to start the first week of October.

HIGHLIGHTS
VISITATION TEAM

If you have a heart for connecting and sharing Christ with others through your presence, the Visitation Team has a place for you!

Our purpose is to keep the body of Christ connected by calling or visiting members who may be home bound, be in care facilities or just don't get out as much as in the past.  They may be experiencing grief, be ill or recuperating from surgery or illness.  The visits will include praying with the person and bringing Communion if this is requested.  If you would like to request a visit or a phone call, please let the church office or pastor know.

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM YOUR CHURCH COUNCIL

"Give Back to Pay It Forward" is a celebration of St. Paul Lutheran Church's 150th Anniversary. St. Paul Lutheran has had a rich history over the last 150 years and we are looking at continuing that legacy well into the future. As a result we are challenging the entire congregation from, July 29th 2018 through the end of the year, to participate in a matching contributions initiative.

Several members of the congregation have generously offered to match any funds given that are above and beyond the regular weekly giving by the remainder of the congregation.

In order to have your contribution matched, please use your preferred method of donating (envelope, bill pay, online giving), but remember to clearly note that the donation is for "Matching Funds".

As the year progresses we will continue to update the congregation on the success of this initiative.
