Seattle University Engineering Mentor Night
Wednesday, November 29th
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Seattle University, 901 12th Avenue, Seattle

Seattle University (SU) is hosting an engineering mentor night for their students on Wednesday, November 29th from 6 to 8 pm and they are particularly seeking mentors in Electrical and Computer, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering.

The event will start with a panel discussion of invited SU alumni who will field questions from the students. Following the panel discussion, the students will rotate among tables with the mentors for discussions. To facilitate the discussions, mentors are asked to bring a sample of work (reports, photos, drawings, etc.) to help the students better understand what they might do in different disciplines of engineering.

If you are available to attend, please sign-up at the following link and share with your colleagues:

Mentors will be sent final details, directions, campus map and parking passes a week prior to the event.

Thank you for volunteering and giving your time and talent to encourage our next generation of engineers! For questions please contact Jason Salazar, the PSEC SU Mentor Night Volunteer Coordinator @ [email protected].

Washington Report Card Update!
ASCE Seattle Section is looking for volunteers to act as leads for a few fields (Aviation, Drinking Water, Energy, Hazardous Waste, Transit). The report card is a way for Civil Engineers to better communicate with the general public about the current condition and performance of the country's infrastructure. In 2013,   Washington state's report card  was graded with a C! In 2017, the country's overall grade was event lower, at D+!

If you are interested in leading or supporting us in updating the Report Card, please contact Erik Ellingsen at  [email protected]. More info on the report card can be found at:

Pacific Science Center
200 2nd Ave N
Seattle, WA 98109

On  Saturday, November 11th  we will be hosting a fun and interactive activity booth at the Pacific Science Center and you can join the fun!  Our activity booth will be a part of the Pacific Science Center's "Engineer It!" weekend , a festival that celebrates all things engineering.  The festival will be a great opportunity for us to have meaningful interactions with local families about how cool the civil engineering profession is.

As a volunteer, you'll lead museum guests through the activity (testing gum-drop structures on an earthquake shake table!) and help set-up and take down the booth.

There are (3) volunteer shifts:
