HOMESTEAD NEIGHBORHOOD

The Homestead Neighborhood Association normally meets the First Tuesday of every month,7 p m at the OHSU Child Development and Rehabilitation Center; 707 SW Gaines, Third Floor. 

The Homestead Neighborhood Association will meet Tuesday, October 2 at 7 pm at the OHSU Child Development and Rehabilitation Center, 3 rd floor.  707 SW Gaines. Parking is available.
 
October 2 Agenda items include updates and discussion on many issues affecting the Homestead neighborhood. 
 
  • Marquam Hill Meter District Update (Homestead has asked the City to use the Homestead portion of the meter district revenue to move forward with the project of completing sidewalk construction on the north side of Gibbs between 11th and 13th).
  • Area Permit Parking Program - Homestead is reviewing our permit program rules and beginning discussions to determine if the area rules should be updated and or modified.
  • SW Connector - Friends of Terwilliger position letter on the OHSU connector.
  • Homestead NET (Neighborhood Emergency Team) - Homestead is currently working to certify and assemble a NET team for our area.

The City of Portland and other agencies are working on many zoning code and transportation projects that directly affect the livability of Homestead residents.  There are so many projects that at times it is difficult to stay informed.  The following links may help.you get current information about these projects.

COP Land Use Updates (September 2018) This document provides information about the many zoning code projects that are currently underway.

SW Corridor and OHSU Connector ProjectThis project is so large and encompassing that it is difficult to get specific information quickly and easily about the various moving parts.  Be sure to at least access the Library Project page from the main website.  This will give you information without all the PR messaging.

SW NewsThis link will take you to the SWNI (Southwest Neighborhoods Inc.) website where you can access an electronic version of the current newspaper or subscribe to receive a paper copy.  This newspaper provides news from all southwest neighborhood associations along with current information about many of the projects and issues affecting southwest neighborhoods.

The SWNI Fall Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, November 3 from 9am-1pm at the 
Portland Christian Center on Dosch Road.  Volunteers are needed!  This event provides a great service to SW neighborhood residents.  Access the October SW News (pg2) to see what kinds of items will be accepted at the Cleanup.  If you can help call 503.823.4592 or email [email protected]
