Election Day is Nov. 6: Find Your Polling Place
Election Day is next Tuesday, Nov. 6, and polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. If you haven't voted absentee or voted early,
find your polling place
. We also encourage you to print out a sample ballot from your
county auditor website
to research who you plan to vote for prior to arriving at the polls, especially because Iowa no longer allows straight-party voting. In other words, you can no longer fill in one bubble to vote for all the candidates of one party, so researching the candidates ahead of time is more important than ever. statewide and congressional
candidates.

IDOR Issues Updated Guidance on DPAD
The Iowa Department of Revenue has released additional information regarding compliance with new tax changes concerning the Domestic Production Activities Credit (DPAD). The federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) included a repeal of the federal DPAD for tax years beginning on or after Jan. 1, 2018. Iowa did not conform to this repeal for tax years beginning during 2018, and as a result, the DPAD will be available as a deduction for Iowa tax purposes for tax year 2018. However, the deduction will not be available for Iowa purposes for tax years beginning on or after Jan. 1, 2019. For a full list of reform guidance, visit the
IDOR's tax reform page

ABI Board, Staff Are Focused on You
At ABI, it's all about the members. As an organization, there are two groups of people that help make sure that focus is at the forefront of everything we do.
It starts at the top, and it is the ABI Board of Directors that is responsible for the success experienced by ABI in recent years. The board takes seriously its charge to lead ABI to growth and even greater impact. Over the years, I can't tell you how many times a board member has asked if a particular decision would mean better service for members. That question, or a variation, really
guides
the board.
