February Volunteering - Brides For a Cause
February 9th
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
 
STILL LOOKING FOR ~3 VOLUNTEERS!

Join Brides for a Cause and MOViN 92.5 for the 5th annual Dress Dash to raise money for various women-focused charities around the world! We will be helping with set-up on  Friday February 9th from 6pm to 8pm in preparation for the  Saturday morning Dress Dash. 

Duties include moving wedding dresses to the event space, setting up accessories, and setting up the fitting room area. Dress comfortably.

Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition - Volunteers Needed!

Popsicle Bridge Competition 
Looking for volunteers for the 23rd Annual Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition! The competition is on February 10th at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. We are in need of judges (both technical and aesthetic), general help/runners, registration, and a couple emcees.

Lunch will be provided, as well as a small breakfast and a volunteer happy hour afterwards. Come join the fun and help a good cause! Sign up HERE!

On Saturday, February 10th we will be hosting a fun and interactive activity booth at the Museum of Flight and you can join the fun!  Our activity booth will be a part of thePuget Sound Engineering Council (PSEC) Engineering Fair.  The K-12 outreach committee has participated in the PSEC Engineering Fair for several years and it always proves to be a great opportunity for community outreach.  

There are (3) volunteer shifts:
10:00a-12:00p
12:00p-2:00p 
2:00p-4:00p.  

If you have any questions or if you're interested in volunteering please email Brad Strandquist at  bstrandquist@mka.com .  Please indicate your requested shift.
YMF Leadership Retreat - Save the Date! March 9th-11th

YMF Leadership Retreat
Stevens Pass/Leavenworth, WA
March 9th-11th

Join the YMF Leadership for a f un weekend retreat! The leadership retreat is an annual event hosted jointly with Portland YMF, and is open to YMF groups from all over the state. It's a great opportunity to meet members from other YMF groups and to also get to know your leadership. This year Seattle is hosting and has rented two cabins for the weekend in Plain, WA, which is located between Stevens Pass and Leavenworth. The expected cost is around $100/person and includes two nights stay and breakfast and dinner on Saturday. Weekend activities include options to ski, hike, or visit Leavenworth.

2018 Scholarship for High Schools Students
Deadline: Friday March 23rd

Do you know any seniors in high school interested in math, science and/or engineering? If so, they should be applying for our
scholarship! It will be for $1,000! 

If they have participated in our annual Popsicle Stick Bridge competition, they receive bonus points on the application.

New affordable housing is costly compared to rehabilitation and repair. Even with the Seattle Housing Levy providing additional financing, 1 new unit of affordable housing in Seattle costs on average $268,605 to build. 

Come join ASCE at the Rebuilding Together event on Saturday, April 28th this year. You could be part of a community of local volunteers transforming deteriorating houses into safe, healthy, and affordable homes. If interested in volunteering, please contact Megan Ramsay at  megan.ramsay@abam.com.
