With many people spending much more time at home we are certainly seeing a boom in our business and we thank you for that! Water features are a great addition to any landscape, the calming and soothing effect of moving water is an excellent stress reliever during these crazy times. This boom is also beginning to increase lead times for many products (see Product Update below). Planning ahead is one of the keys to any successful project and will become even more important if these lead times continue to increase.

In this month's newsletter there is the latest update on Pondemonium, an important product update and this month's video which features Ed Beaulieu, the Pond Professor!

Stay safe and healthy!

Happy Pondering,

The True Pump Team

Coronavirus Update
Most of our safety policies remain the same but we have made the difficult decision to cancel all seminars until Spring 2021. There are just too many unknowns to be able to move forward with any seminars this fall.

Beginning Monday, June 22 we adjusted our policies slightly to allow more people into the store.  We are allowing 3 groups of people to come into the store at any time. All customers will still be required to wear a mask when entering and maintain proper social distancing, as per City of Denver restrictions. We will also have hand sanitizer and wipes available. The quickest and easiest ordering options will continue to be online and curbside pickup. There could be wait times for those wanting to enter the store. When arriving at the store please ring the doorbell to let us know you've arrived since all doors will remain locked.

The health and safety of our customers and employees will continue to be our top priority. Thanks to all of you for your outpouring of support and encouragement during these difficult times. We will continue to monitor information from public health authorities, and will communicate updates on a regular basis via email and social media.

The Old Man and the Kid
Are you already teaching the next generation? Check out this great article from Greg Wittstock, The Pond Guy:

The old man was just a few years older than the kid when he started at Aquascape. What started as a job has become his career.

Now it's the kids turn.

Jack has lived with a pond his parents built for as long as he can remember. He discovered Aquascape by watching Pond Stars on NatGeo and built his own pond. He got inspired and made it bigger. And then bigger again!  He worked all last summer with our Aquascape crews and impressed everyone. When Covid hit this spring he worked all day cleaning ponds and did his school work at night. He graduated in May and he's not going to college, he's shadowing the old man instead.  We need kids like Jack who have a passion for the hobby, enjoy the physical nature of our trade and have a work ethic that matches our own.

Here's to Jack and all the kids out there who will eventually become old men teaching the next generation behind them!

Product Update
At True Pump we pride ourselves on having the inventory you need to complete your project on time! We want to make you aware there is a lag happening in the supply chain in the time to ship out orders, the availability of some items and the time they are on the road. We are doing our best to have what you need, when you need it, but the longer lead times are making it more and more challenging. You're probably seeing this in other areas of your business also.

The bottom line is - plan ahead! On small jobs we appreciate having a couple of hours notice to get them ready. For medium sized jobs we would like to have 24 hours notice. For large jobs you may want to order at least 1-2 weeks ahead of time so we can be sure to have all the product you need available.

Like so many things during these challenging times, we appreciate your understanding and we'll get through all of this together!

The Pond Professor is off to Australia for some inspiration. Our Colorado contractors are lucky to have many sources of inspiration much closer to home!
