CALIFORNIA - MEXICO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
In July 2014, California Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr., Un­dersecretary Rodolfo Lacy and General Director Jorge Res­cala Pérez of Mexico's Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources and its National Forestry Commission, respectively, signed the four-year Memorandum of Understand­ing (MOU) to Enhance Cooperation on Climate Change and the Environment. The purpose of the MOU is to strengthen the capacity of both governments to cope with the challenges of climate change and protect and preserve natural resources.

Regional Updates
WYOMING STATE VISIT
CSG West Director, Edgar Ruiz, and accompanying staff visited the Wyoming Legislature to meet with legislative leaders and hear about policy challenges facing the state. During the visit, CSG West staff briefly met with legislative leadership, the Legislative Service Director, and the chief of staff to Governor Mark Gordon. The visit also included a meeting with CSG West Chair-Elect, Senator Michael Von Flatern, about the 2020 CSG West Annual Meeting that will convene in Wyoming.


MONTANA STATE VISIT
CSG West Director, Edgar Ruiz and accompanying staff recently visited Helena, Montana to learn about key issues being addressed by lawmakers in the Treasure State. The state visit included meetings with CSG West Chair, Representative Kimberly Dudik, legislative leaders and staff from Montana Governor Steve Bullock's office to share information about upcoming organizational programming, including the 72nd CSG West Annual Meeting that will convene in Big Sky, Montana in July. 


CSG WEST STAFF VISIT WESTERN STATE LEGISLATURES
CSG West Director, Edgar Ruiz, and accompanying staff annually visit each of our member states during their legislative sessions. State visits are coordinated to share information about programs and services for policy-makers, as well as to learn more about the issues that legislatures are addressing.
