Night for Hope
Learn about the Associate Board, the group of 24 amazing individuals behind the Night for Hope...
taking it back to 1993 in honor of OUR 25th Anniversary!
Over the next three months, featured here will be randomly selected members (yes, we resorted to picking out of a hat) and their early 90's photos.
Meet Logan Kinsey

Q: How did you get involved with OUR HOUSE and the Associate Board?
A: My mom died from cancer in 2017 and shortly after I joined a Grieving A Parent Group. Towards the end, I was dreading the final moments – being in the same room with others who understood my loss wasn’t something I wanted to let go of.  And I didn’t have to.  I reached out to see how I could stay connected and give back to this organization that had made such an impact on my life.  As one of the newest members, I am proud to continue to be a part of OUR HOUSE alongside others who feel the same connection as I do.

Q: What 90's TV character do you most relate to?
A: I used to stay up past my bedtime to sneak in Friends. I’m definitely a Phoebe — weird, wacky... and I flap my arms when I run.
Meet Sarah Brown

Q: How did you get involved with OUR HOUSE and the Associate Board?
A: I didn't know about OUR HOUSE after my dad unexpectedly died in 2015, but desperately wished I had. When one of my colleagues, Reva, who now serves on the Board of Directors suggested I find a way to get connected, it was a natural fit. I know that my dad would be proud of the work I am doing to help people like me who have had someone die find hope through grief.

Q: What 90's TV character do you most relate to?
A: Home Improvement--I actually relate with Wilson, the neighbor. I might not show you all of myself right away, but I'm always available to lend an ear and share my thoughts.

Día de Los Muertos
For the second year in a row, our Spanish Satellite Program participated in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery’s Día de Los Muertos. Our commemorative altar featured a grief activity that allowed the public to write words describing their grief on rocks that were then placed on “grief beach.”

We are proud to continue spreading awareness about grief support and our services while joining our LA Latin American community on November 2 in commemorating the day of the dead.

A different approach to grieving

After the death of someone close, a griever's world turns upside down. Waves of emotion, including sadness, loneliness, anger, and yearning can make life feel overwhelming. A sense of disbelief leads some to ask themselves, "How can this be real? ...
