What's your answer when someone asks you what you do?
Do you answer with something like. "I'm a business coach" or "I'm a real estate broker"?
Try answering with passion that people can identify with. For example:
I help business leaders build stronger teams and reduce employee "churning".
I help families find and buy the home of their dreams.
Lincoln Kokaram recently wrote a book entitled with P.A.S.S.I.O.N. He describes how people with "mundane" jobs make a difference because they do their work with passion and 110% commitment. It's a quick read (a little over an hour for me, a slow reader), and very inspiring.
People who work with passion make a difference, whatever their role is. Attitude shows!
A janitor working with passion leaves his or her mark on the clean orderly result.
A top producing "hot-shot" real estate agent who works with a dour attitude adds little value to the world. He or she will likely have short-lived success.
As we've often discussed, mindset makes all the difference in performance. For my "signature" piece on mindset go here. Browse other titles here.
Whatever your beliefs happen to be,.I've found most Judeo-Christian life advice to be very sound..In my experience, those who genuinely embrace and live by the word of God are nearly always sound people. They're very different from those who give it lip service on Sunday, and cheat on their partners during the week. Lincoln is a good example of a committed Christian.
He uses many biblical references. For those less inclined to read religious teachings, don't be put off by that. It's great counsel!
Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you find many things in life to give thanks heartily for. Whether life is treating you well, or throwing you a curve, gratitude is the key to making it better!
