Help us #ClearTheWaitlist

Did you know that just having books in a young child's home increases early literacy skills and readiness for school?

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth until they begin school, no matter their family's income. We currently have over 400 local children we serve, but we have 70 families waiting to join the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program.

This #GivingTuesday (Nov. 27th), we invite you to DONATE and help us #ClearTheWaitlist by texting GIVE to 540-307-1880 or by visiting our website. You can make a difference in a child's life for only $30!

Interesting Fact of the Month
Virginia's beautiful Shenandoah Valley

The gorgeous red, orange, and yellow pigments in fall foliage are actually there all year, just under the surface. Sunlight helps fuel plant cells containing a chemical called chlorophyll, which gives leaves its vivid green color while working to turn light into energy. When sunlight diminishes in fall, chlorophyll breaks down, letting the plant's hidden red, yellow, and orange hues shine.
