Alumni Spotlight: Matt Richmond, Class of '92
Matthew Richmond, '92, is a relatively well-known figure in the Mequon-Thiensville area, having served on a number of area committees in addition to acting as partner at his investment firm, Richmond Financial Services.

After a brief stint in Utah after high school, Matt decided to return home to finish his degrees and begin his professional career. Now with two children attending school in the Mequon-Thiensville School District, Matt and his family have truly become fixtures in the community.
MTSD History Moment: Steffen Middle School
For over 50 years, Steffen Middle School has been an integral part of the Mequon-Thiensville educational experience. Thanks to current principal Dr. Deborah Anderson and the Steffen archives for shining some light on the history of MTSD's westernmost middle school:

"Steffen Middle School officially opened its doors October 16, 1966, and was named after Harry C. Steffen, a beloved and respected educator in the then Thiensville-Mequon Joint School District #3. Mr. Steffen was a teacher and principal for nearly 36 years in Mequon. Upon his passing in 1987, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel coined him the 'Father of Education.' Mr. Steffen’s belief in academic rigor and good citizenship continues to be reflected in the strong academic performance of [Steffen's] students and Steffen Middle School’s commitment to service. The essence of community is woven within the fabric of [Steffen's] history...students, staff, parents and the community at large has shown their support for one of the best middle schools in the state of Wisconsin."
A historical collage adorns the hallway of Steffen Middle School.
Harry Steffen was the recipient of many educational recognitions and accolades for his lifelong leadership in academics.
Hey, how many Steffen alumni do we have out there?
Yep, proud Spartan over here!
Nope, I'm Lake Shore all the way.
I started attending MTSD in high school.
Homestead: Then ... And Now
1992: Check out this snap from the hallway leading down to the art wing!

"Best Junior Writers Marlie Fritz and Stephen Phillips prove that their agility does not stop on the written page."

Pretty sure that's not allowed anymore...
2019: Much color has been added to this particular corridor, which now serves as a gallery for Homestead's most talented (non-trapeze) artists!

Students enjoy balmy temps and abundant daylight as they traverse this hallway, which was recently carpeted to add traction in the summer of 2018.
#TartanThrowback: Fun and Games
So spirited were these Highlanders of yore! From cheer to pep band, art class to dancing, these former students knew how to live in style. So, what was the year? Peek down and see...
(....it was 1984!)
