Issue 190

Christ Covenant School is a community that loves, educates, and equips our students to transform the world for Jesus Christ.

And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven

Robert Lee Head of School

As we circle around to the Christmas season once again, I want to thank our families for their abundant blessings and gifts to our teachers and staff.  We are always humbled by your gratefulness and somewhat softened by the abundance of sweets.

We want to give a special thanks to the gifts from Mrs. Donna Askew and the Duke Energy Foundation for the donated basketball goal at the Lower School.  The basketball goal has been dedicated to the loving memory of Mrs. Askew's late father, Donald C. Phillips. With the special vinyl work of Renee Yongue and Becky Clark, combined with the donation from Michael and Michelle Chandler, the rebuilt goal proudly displays our Spartan Logo.  Thank you so much.

Also, a big thank you to the parents who have signed up for the "Souper" Bowl party at the Greenville shelter on January 3 rd, where our school will be providing a meal for those less fortunate.  You still have time to place you name on our online sign-up and help cook and serve a hot meal together as a community.

As I look back over the year, I am also particularly grateful for how our school has stepped up for our Athletic Fields Campaign.  We have now completed 100% of our $150,000 goal!  Many of you participated in giving through our 300 Spartan Warriors, Lifetime Spartan Club, Joshua Stones, and sponsorship signs from the local businesses.  This campaign is still a great way for us to highlight our partners and provide for the expansion of our growing sports program in our high school.

Finally, I have one last very important thank you.  I would like to take a moment and honor our departing board president, Dr. Clint Parker, who has served our school tirelessly, relentlessly, and with grace and integrity throughout his eight year tenure with three as president.  Any improvements, advancements, refinements, and success of our school community over this past three years can be traced directly to his wisdom and leadership.

Thank you Dr. Parker, particularly, and Merry Christmas to all.

End of Year Giving
We have several giving opportunities at our school.

  • Many of our extended families can consider giving a gift to Christ Covenant School as a year-end blessing to our building campaign. Many of you feel strongly that our school should expand and continue building, and any gifts received by our families will be allocated for the next phase of growth to our capital campaign. Join the growing list of contributors

  • Consider signing up to feed people at the Greenville homeless shelter on January 3rd. This event is part of our plan to pick a monthly area of need and make an impact as a people. One of our seniors, Laney Rivera, has organized this opportunity.  Sign up here to bring a hot bowl of soup on the January 3.
