Welcome to the Bishop Watterson family!
Guatemala Mission Trip 2018
Bishop Watterson sent 27 students and six chaperones on service mission trips to Guatemala this summer. They worked with International Samaritan, a Jesuit founded organization whose mission is to serve those in extreme poverty living and working in garbage dump communities. International Samaritan provides residents in these
garbage dump communities with basic needs, like sanitation, health care, education, and housing. The two Bishop Watterson groups worked at schools in Estelí and
Guatemala City. During the day, the high school students worked hand-in-hand with the school and local community members on construction projects such as building new classrooms, renovating a patio area, and painting.
Italian Exchange 2018
Bishop Watterson's exchange with Instituto Russell Newton in Florence, Italy, is underway! BWHS students are hosting 21 Italian students for 12 days this month. The Italians spend days shadowing our students in class and on field trips to locations such as Ohio State, the Ohio Statehouse, Franklin Park Conservatory, Amish country and the Columbus Zoo, among others.
