Did you know that kids thrive when families volunteer in their schools? Watch for the Volunteer form in next weeks Lion's Tale.

Please join us Saturday, September 29th, from 8:00am -12:00pm for work day, no special skills required. Lunch will be provided for all helpers. This is a great opportunity to get in some of those Family Service Hours. Families working all 4 hours on work day will be credited for 6 hours :)

We would like to be sure we are prepared for all volunteers, please contact Yvonne at [email protected], if you will be helping at work day.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent/Teacher conferences are set for Thursday, October 4th, and Friday, October 5th. Students will be dismissed at 11:45AM on Thursday. SAC will be available on Thursday, with hourly rates beginning at 12:00PM. THERE IS NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, October 5th. SAC is avaiable on Friday, October 5th. Families will need to prepay for SAC on or before Friday, September 28th, by 6:00PM. Return completed forms to SAC. PrePay Form

Scheduling a Conference

Parent Teacher Conference sign ups will be scheduled through Sign- Up.com . You will receive an email, Monday, September 25th with a link to schedule a conference with teacher(s). All parents must schedule a conference with child's homeroom teacher. Contact Yvonne in the school office with any questions.

DID YOU KNOW?

Zion has a Marketing Committee led by our own school parent, Carol Gardner! This group will soon be dispersed into project teams to implement an overall development/advancement plan for Zion, so we can realize our vision for making Zion the best school (Age 2-G8) it can be for our children and those who follow. Do you have an interest in advertising, marketing, working on activities, connecting people/resources, obtaining donations (in-kind or cash), have a connection to a network, etc.? Contact Carol at [email protected].

Pick up

Thank you for your effort in the dismissal line. Please teach your children how to use their car seats, boosters, and safety belts. It might also be more convenient to have younger children sit behind the driver seat so they can be helped into their seats.

We ask that Kindergarten families park in the gym area to collect your children as needed. However, starting the first of October, we ask that you join the dismissal line to collect your children. The line moves quickly and the children are kept safe with their teacher at the east side of the school where cars stop to collect children. This seems to be safer than backing up to go against traffic to save less than 2-3 minutes of time. Things to keep in mind during our dismissal:

DO NOT ENTER FROM THE EXIT DRIVEWAY
Please pull all the way forward when in the cone area, rather than stopping wherever you see your student lining up.

SCRIP NEWS

I t is not too late to sign up for Scrip Now, or dering Scrip from your home makes it easy to support the Church and School. If you have any questions please call me. Linda Stewart, 714-315-1738. Remember place your order before 10:15 on Sunday and you will receive it by Thursday of that week. Boxes in ECEC, SAC, Church and the School for your orders must be received by Friday to have your scrip by Thursday of the next week. Scrip is also available in the Church office after 9:00AM and before 3:00PM Monday thru Friday.
