Taco USA. Adapted for the stage by Anthony J. Garcia, Executive Artistic Director of Denver's Su Teatro, it is a carnival of conversations and random perspectives about what it means to be a Mexican, inside or outside the US.

Yjastros 33 is a flamenco epic, featuring world premiere choreographic masterpieces set on Yjastros, The American Flamenco Repertory Company by visiting Spanish artists during their residencies in the University of New Mexico's Dance Program, with live accompaniment by a flamenco
cantaor (singer),
guitarrista (guitarist), and
percusionista (percussionist).

Spanish Screening of Coco

In October, the Bank of America Free Thursday Film Series joined the Center's annual commemoration of Día de los Muertos with free screenings of the delightful Disney/Pixar musical fantasy film
Coco, in both English and Spanish versions. There is still time to see
Coco in Spanish on November 1. A special thanks to The Walt Disney Studios for permission to show this film.
Día de los Muertos Ofrenda Exhibit and Community Ofrenda

Each year the NHCC works with schools and community organizations to host an Ofrenda (altar) Installation in celebration of Día de los Muertos. You are welcome to contribute to our community ofrenda (please don't bring valuables or irreplaceable photographs-reproductions are encouraged).

Hear from artists Autumn Chacon, Aziza Murray, Ehren Kee Natay, and Nani Chacon about the roles that identity plays in their experiences as artists--what shows POC artists are invited to participate in, expectations and/or assumptions
as to what their work is about, whether they feel their work plays an important role in these conversations, what it's like working with museums and galleries, etc.

New Mexico Hometown Heroes: Hispanic Congressional Medal of Honor Recipients
exhibit is a tribute to the six Hispanic Congressional Medal of Honor recipients who have received the highest honor that the United States government bestows for acts of valor and heroism: Private Joseph Martínez (WWII), Private José Valdez (WWII), Master Sergeant Alejandro Ruíz (WWII), Specialist Fourth Class Daniel Fernandez (Vietnam War), Chief Warrant Officer Louis Rocco (Vietnam War) Master Sergeant Leroy Petry (Operation Enduring Freedom).
