Dear Parents,
Our Crab Feed on Saturday night promises to be a really fun party and a very lucrative fundraiser. There are some fabulous new live and silent auction items including a Las Vegas package featuring Lady Gaga show tickets. The drawing for the student raffle prizes will take place at morning assembly on February 13
th. Thank you for supporting this important school fundraiser.
Our students recently completed the winter STAR assessments in reading and math. Your child's results will be sent home very soon. St. Rose students are still somewhat new to this type of computer adaptive test that adjusts the difficulty of the test based on the student's correct answers. During the Winter assessment period, every teacher spent time observing their students in the testing situation which will help them coach students on the strategies necessary for optimal success on this 21
st Century type of assessment.
The most important thing you can do at home to ensure your child's success on the reading portion of the test is to encourage independent reading at home.
Research has shown that reading ability is positively correlated with the extent to which students read recreationally. All St. Rose teachers provide some classroom time for this and we depend on you to do the same at home. Limiting your child's screen time in favor of time with a good book is essential. Setting the example for this by providing family reading time helps to ensure that your children will become lifelong readers and learners - something we all want for our kids.

Coming Soon - New Ordering process for School Uniforms
Parents will now place all uniform orders online. Our uniform supplier, Sonoma Design, will be launching an online store just for St. Rose. The next ordering opportunity will begin before the end of the school year, for August delivery.
The school will continue to keep a range of sample sizes for those who need to determine sizing, and we'll keep a small inventory of items to fill emergency orders when the store is closed. (The store ordering 'windows' will occur several times throughout the year. That schedule will be posted once determined.
St. Rose will hold a TRY ON date where parents can bring students to try on samples to determine sizing before placing orders. That date will be sometime in June.
Check back later for all the info!

Safety First depends on your cooperation!
Please remember, and tell all those in your family who drive onto our campus, to please drive safely!
Some important safety reminders:
- Be patient. Drive slow. Be kind. Do not impede traffic flow or others.

- DO NOT leave your car unattended in the traffic circle during drop off or pick up. Stay in your car and move as soon as your child gets in or out. If you have office business, please park in a designated parking spot.
- Morning drop off: everyone is in a hurry it seems to get to where they need to go. Please do not speed through campus. Do not pass unlawfully or unsafely. Be patient. Plan accordingly.
- If a staff member asks you to move your car or to park, they are doing what is in the best interests of everyone and to keep traffic moving. Please be respectful and do what they ask of you.
We thank you for your cooperation and appreciate your partnership in keeping everyone safe out there!
