Breast Cancer Awareness Month
TFJG goes pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The color pink shows up in full force. From the corporate office to onsite team members, together the company integrated pink into their wardrobe to support the cause. As an awareness campaign, it's incredibly successful. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among American women. About 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop breast cancer over the course of their lifetimes. Wearing pink helps remind people of the importance of the month of October and to get a mammogram if you have forgotten. More importantly the pink shirt honors those who have successfully beaten the disease, those who are currently battling the disease, and also reminds us of those who have succumbed to the disease. Wearing pink during the month of October is a simple way to let these women know they're not alone.

The celebration included a ribbon cutting ceremony sponsored by the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce, tours of the community, and a delicious lunch provided by Mission BBQ. Jordan wrote: "GeorgeAnne is the perfect example of "Teamwork - Make Something Happen". When I asked GeorgeAnne if she would be able to help me out with the most recent transition at Curtis Arms, she did not hesitate one bit to say "yes". On our first day on site she came in and immediately jumped right in to make sure that all compliance related items were in the process of being completed. On top of handling items at Curtis Arms, she has managed to handle her own property with no issues at all. We are a team here in Rhode Island and GeorgeAnne never forgets or lets anyone forget that. She is always so positive, patient, and always willing to help out with whatever she can, whenever she can. GeorgeAnne thank you for making my job easy and always having everyone's back. You are so appreciated.
 Karen Garland, Housekeeper, Sinclair Commons
Karen was nominated this week by her Community Manager, Muriel Harden. Muriel wrote: "Karen has been with us at Sinclair Commons since 2015 and she is the best housekeeper. She keeps this building clean and fresh smelling at all times. She also goes above and beyond her normal duties by helping out in the office sometimes. Recently, a prospective resident told Karen: "You must have a twin because there is no way that one person can keep this three story building clean and fresh smelling. I truly appreciate Karen's teamwork!".
Courtney Schachter, Assistant Community Manager, Spring Water
Courtney was nominated by her Regional Manager, Megan Kovacevich, and Jeff Hibbard, ACM at Meadowood. Megan wrote: "In the last month, she has gone above and beyond to demonstrate two of our core values which are teamwork and character. Not only does she excel in her every day role as an assistant at Spring Water, she has stepped into the manager role while prospective managers were being interviewed for Preston Trails. She never once hesitated to help and make the drive at times even worked at btoh communities in a single day. She has maintained their invoicing, and followed up with vendors, all while maintaining her daily role as an assistant at Spring Water. Her work ethic is impeccable." Jeff wrote: "Courtney is just the latest example of excellent teamwork from the team at Spring Water - the whole crew there has always worked with us to our mutual benefit. Yesterday, Courtney called and emailed me for info on our availability, proactively working to help both her leads and her sister property. At the end of the day, we toured 3 leads that she sent us and leased two on the spot for immediate move-in. Thank you Courtney. You absolutely "Made something happen" and we appreciate you very much.

Arbors at Culpeper had a "Fa-boo-lous" month planning resident events. Residents have been busy and enjoyed paint nights, a halloween pet costume contest, balcony decorating contest and painting pumpkins. Way to go team for putting on all of these amazing events!
