Every now and then we encounter a new book that we're so excited about we want to shout it from the rooftops, so we have this special designation to distinguish it from the rest:
November V.I.B...
by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah

" This is the book version of what I imagine the Jordan Peele-led  Twilight Zone  revival might be. Or what  Black Mirror  is. Or a funhouse refraction of our own world, IRL. These twelve powerfully satirical stories compel us to see our anger and violence at a distance, blown up on a big screen so we can't look away. They tackle hard truths and invite us along on flights of fierce surreality. And ultimately, they kneel down to empathy. Everyone is in awe of Adjei-Brenyah. Join the club! Read this debut! " --  Lainie Formby, Adult Book Buyer

by Alice Feeney

" Alice Feeney is a charming writer. Paired with this psychological roller coaster of a plot, I breezed through this book in less than two days. I think I initially picked this up, because of the subconscious connection that I made to Alice in Wonderland, between the author's name and the girl in a dress falling in the darkness on the front cover. Though it is not strictly speaking based on Lewis Carroll's works, it is not a far stretch. The main character, Amber, wakes up in a hospital unable to move or speak, though she can perceive everything—and everyone—in her room. She tries to piece together all of what she hears and the bits of her slowly resurfacing memories leading up to her present, and what she discovers... " --  Portia Graf, Aspen Grove retail manager

by Rachel Kusk

" A fitting ending to a delectably philosophical trilogy. This book is exactly what I need to read RIGHT NOW -- as a woman in this unjust, upsetting, undeniably dazzling old world. " --  Lainie Formby, Adult Book Buyer
