PI WEEKLY UPDATE
5th Grade Update
February 4th - 8th
ENGLISH

This week students will continue to blog through our KidBlog class website. They will create a new opinion post and make comments on the posts of other students. We will continue to review important grammar concepts through daily bell work and weekly assessments.
*Homework: Practice Keyboarding Skills - Resources for this practice are located in Google Classroom.

MATH

This week students will continue Topic 7 with adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers with unlike denominators. Topic 7 test will be Wednesday, February 13th.

SOCIAL STUDIES

We will continue our study of the causes of the American Revolution. Remember that Colonial Day is Friday, February 15th. Please let your teacher know if you need help with a costume.

SCIENCE

This week we will begin studying the hydrosphere and atmosphere. We will do interactive notebook work and a virtual lab. At the end of this week, we will have a guest speaker that is a geologist. We would appreciate any donation of glue sticks as Science is running low.

READING

We will be continuing with our book clubs.  Please note that if your child falls behind in reading due to an absence it is their responsibility to come in during lunch or before school to get caught up.

PE

We are continuing our American Heart Challenge.  We are doing one round of 6 circuit stations at 1 and ½ minutes at each station.  This will end on Friday, February 1st.

Donuts will be sold this Wednesday out of the concession stand for $1 each.
