Dear Friends of  A N ovel  E xperience,

We are just coming off one of the most delightful events of the year--the annual Trick or Treat on the Square. On  Saturday, October 27th, downtown merchants were treated to hundreds of wonderfully polite, excited superheros, ghosts and goblins.  And, now we're looking forward to one of our all-time favorite holidays--Thanksgiving. Every year at this time, we enjoy seeing many of our ANE friends and visiting family. Stop on by! We'll be closed on Thanksgiving, but up-and-going throughout the holiday weekend--especially on Small Business Saturday, November 24th. We'll feature local authors and a storeful of great books, along with fabulous giveaways!

Thanks, Keela for helping with Halloween!

In addition to unpacking some really great titles for the holiday gift-giving season, we are celebrating the arts this month, beginning with Carson Barnes' collection of must-see prints. The story of his work is fascinating (we'll post a video of his process soon). He'll be on hand for his Opening Reception this Friday evening to discuss the work. Join us for refreshments and good company from 5 to 8.  And, on Friday the 16th we're going to kick back and enjoy our favorite guitar player, Ryan Cummings who will be jamming with his Nashville uncle (an accomplished musician in his own right). It promises to be a fun evening! This is a writer's month--our twice-a-year Authors Showcase will feature folks who have published their work--the how-to's and the work is inspiring. (If you know of an author who would like to join us, have them call us at 770-567-1103 to sign up!). Next week, Mercer Press author Holly Sullivan McClure will visit and sign "Conjuror". Her book weaves Cherokee myths with mystery and adventure in an exploration of the power of good and evil--she'll be here Wednesday, November 7th from 5-7.

Thank you all for your support these past 11 years! We're reminded that reading can be a wonderful respite from the bustle of the holidays. Stop by and let us know what you are reading! And, welcome back Brenda Fayard, one of our favorite booksellers--she'll be here on Tuesdays! Our cup runneth over!
