For the  parents and families of St. Therese Chinese Catholic School

Dear Parents,

What happened to Fall? I guess we skipped over it and went straight into Winter!
Nonetheless, our students are immersed in their school work, extracurricular activities, and practices as they settle into the St. Therese School community. Our students from both campuses will participate in an Adoration experience with the Sisters of Charity in December and January. We are so grateful for this wonderful opportunity for our students to participate in this moving experience.

I look forward to seeing our students singing, dancing and showing their musical talents during our Christmas Program on Wednesday, December 18, at the St. Barbara Worship Site from 6pm-7:30pm. We will also have our 50/50 raffle drawing. There is still time to buy more raffles or send the link to relatives and friends from near and far.

I hope every family has a safe, restful Thanksgiving. I am truly thankful for our students, parents, teachers, and school community.

Best,
Ms. Lisa Deborah Oi
Principal

JV Flag Football Claims Second Straight Chicago Unity League Championship!
On November 7th, the JV Flag Football Team won the league championship over the very tough Ascension of Oak Park team.  The game was close at halftime with St. Therese pulling away in the second half with some key turnovers and tremendous offensive plays.  The game took place at Max McCook indoor facility in perfect conditions while it was freezing outdoors!  The JV Team was able to win the league championship with a "two-platoon" system of two separate complete team units that alternated offensive and defensive cycles during games.

Varsity Football Finishes Strong Season with 3 Victories and formidable playoff finish!
The Varsity Football Team nearly reached the league championship game after losing 22-16 to eventual league champion Ascension in the league semi-finals of the playoffs.  After not posting any victories in 2018, this group of players won 3 games this season and narrowly lost 3 other games, including 2 playoff games.  The improvement this team showed was tremendous, and the team played at a championship level for stretches of the season.

Varsity Volleyball Starts Season with Strong Finish in DeLaSalle Tournament!
The Girls Varsity Volleyball Team began their season with a strong 2nd place finish in their respective division in the DeLaSalle tournament. The girls played numerous matches in one day and really stepped up and either won or seriously challenged every team they played. The Varsity Team also opened their regular season with a victory in the Archer Park Volleyball League.

Junior Football Finishes Season with fun game with parents and coaches!
The Junior Football Team played a fun, season-ending game at Max McCook where the coaches and parents were invited to play alongside the players in a friendly game.  The players displayed great running and catching skills while the adults rekindled old skills.  A great time was had by all, and the game ended up a tie due to some trickery by one team and a last play touchdown grab by the other!

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."
John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Students practiced their persuasive writing skills to share their, "I'm Not A Turkey" projects. Later, students created imaginative disguises to "hide" turkeys from the threat of becoming a part of a tasty Thanksgiving dinner. Good luck, turkeys!
