Haifa Al Kaylani (2017) is working to create a future that provides decent and sustainable work opportunities for all. As Commissioner of the International Labour Organization Global Commission on the Future of Work, Ms. Al Kaylani and her colleagues recently announced  a landmark report calling on governments to address transformational change in the world of work. 

Thuli Madonsela (2017) says it is often easy to feel helpless in the face of immense odds, but taking responsibility for change is imperative. In a recent column, Ms. Madonsela encourages South African citizens to exercise their agency in the coming year.

Suneel Kamlani (2016) received the endorsement of the Connecticut Transportation, Energy, Environment and Jobs/Economy Committees for his model to create state infrastructure banks. Newly elected legislators have also championed Mr. Kamlani's proposal, filing bills to create a Connecticut Infrastructure Bank and examine a Northeast Regional Infrastructure Bank.

Gale Pollock (2011) continues to fight for the rights of transgender individuals in the armed services. Together with three other senior retired U.S. military officers, Maj. Gen. (ret.) Pollock came out against the ban on transgender individuals serving in the armed forces ahead of a key court decision.

ALI Faculty Chair Meredith Rosenthal (SPH) is exploring the link between medical marketing, trust, and the patient-physician relationship. In a recent editorial for JAMA, Prof. Rosenthal explains how trust in physicians can erode with the unchecked increase of medical marketing.

ALI Faculty Board Member Amy Edmondson (HBS) argues that psychological safety is increasingly important in the modern economy. Prof. Edmondson talked about how companies with a trusting workplace perform better on Harvard Business Review's  IdeaCast.

ALI Faculty Executive Committee Member Howard Koh (SPH) is being recognized for his extraordinary leadership. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) established the Dr. Howard K. Koh Award for Excellence in Leadership at HHS -recognizing employees in Asian American/Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander communities who exemplify outstanding leadership, service integrity, and excellence.
