Deadline Extended for 2019 Freshy Award Nominations
Nominate a CalFresh Champion from your Community!
The annual "Freshy" Awards honor the actions of individual Californians and organizations that have worked diligently in the last year to improve CalFresh. CFPA will collect information about each nominee in order to develop a voting ballot that will be distributed in February. Based on your votes, the Freshy Award winners will be announced at the 2019 CalFresh Forum.

A 2019 Freshy will be awarded to a nominee in each of the following categories:
  • Administrator of the Year
  • Outreach Leader of the Year
  • Grassroots Mobilizer of the Year
  • SSI Cashout Reversal Advocate of the Year
  • Elected Official or Capitol Staffer of the Year
The Freshy Award nomination process will now close on Friday, January 25, 2019.

March 6 in Sacramento, Reserve your Spot Now! 
California Food Policy Advocates (CFPA) and the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) would very much like for you to join us at the  2019 CalFresh Forum on March 6, 2019 in Sacramento!

Each year, CFPA's CalFresh Forum brings together hundreds of key stakeholders from across the state to identify opportunities and discuss strategies to improve the reach and impact of CalFresh.  The 2019 CalFresh Forum will  focus on upcoming opportunities to improve how CalFresh serves vulnerable populations  as we look  to the future and continue to  work toward improving access  and participation across the state.  This year's program will feature  a special focus on the upcoming reversal of the state's SSI "Cashout" policy and opportunities for administrators and stakeholders to work together to ensure a smooth and successful rollout in summer 2019. Workshops and panels will be led by speakers with varied and  extensive policy and programmatic expertise

The event agenda and presentation topics will be available soon on  CFPA's CalFresh Forum webpage, where y ou can easily register online and learn more   about the Forum. We are asking for a $50 registration fee to help cover the costs of organizing and hosting the event. The registration fee includes your attendance, lunch, and light afternoon refreshments.
