Join the PTO Fun This Fall!

We have so many fun offerings this season, for the kids and for the parents! We hope your family can take advantage of as much of it as possible.

For the kiddos, our first World Travelers experience is coming up -- we're transporting them to New Zealand! For those of you who are new, this program has been a long-standing tradition the kids look forward to each year. Our committee recruits a HW parent who is from (or an expert on) another country and builds a travelogue and lunch themed around that country. The kids come away learning about another corner of the world and maybe trying some brand new foods! The PTO plans three of these each year.

For the parents, our HW Social parent-staff party, and our Fall Luncheon, are both coming up. These events are not fund-raisers -- but merely great opportunities for us to strengthen our parent community and make new friends. The party is the weekend before Halloween, and this year it's Hawaiian-themed - so break out your island attire and get ready for a fun, casual night. The luncheon features entertainment by the famous Barbara Rinella, an "actress" who dramatizes a currently popular best seller. This event is so popular we often get former HW parents to come back for it.

We hope you felt welcomed by the PTO at the various go-to-school nights and at the orientation night. Please continue to reach out with your questions and feedback. Also, it's never too late to get involved. If you signed up for a committee, you'll be contacted by that chair at the appropriate time (e.g. our Book Fair volunteers will be hearing from those chairs soon, as the Book Fair is coming up Nov. 14-15).

-Kendal Reis (PTO president)
