Crisp, energizing days of fall have arrived --- perfect for planting. Wouldn't a light frost be convenient for getting rid of those pesky mosquitoes? I'm also dreaming of some critter developing a voracious appetite for stink bugs because EGAD! - those little monsters could become the next scary movie!
We are hitting our stride with landscape installation
and maintenance jobs, so we've brought in plenty of beautiful new plants, including 'Baton Rouge' red twig dogwood,'Woodlanders' beautyberry with rich wine colored berries, 'Rose Creek' dwarf abelia, 'Sunset Magic' compact crape myrtle (WOW burgundy leaves with red flowers). Plus the growers are doing a wonderful job
of growing retail quality natives like spicebush, clethra,
winterberry
(check
our golden berried ones!), and
the best Winterthur
viburnums I've ever seen - wait 'til you see their rich
fall color!
Google these plants to see what the
excitement is all
about. Remember that you easily have until Thanksgiving to plant and with the Eastern Shore's long, comfortable fall seasons you may be able to plant well into December. As always, we are happy to help you find just the right solutions for your garden projects and dilemmas, so come see what's going on here at Unity!
The nursery is open M-F 8:00-5:00 and Saturday 8:00-4:00.
