General Assembly Update
We are nearly half way through the 2019 General Assembly Session. This week is "Crossover" which is when the House of Delegates and the Senate conclude their work on legislation that was introduced in their respective chambers - bills that successfully pass the House will be sent over to the Senate and bills that successfully pass the Senate will be sent over to the House of Delegates. HBAV is tracking over 150 pieces of legislation that have a direct or indirect impact on the Commonwealth's residential land development and construction industry. In the last 30 days, HBAV has worked on very important legislation on the following topics:
Proffers, Impact Fees, Building Permit Applications, Building Permit Fees, Tree Ordinance, Sidewalks, Stormwater, Cluster Zoning, Affordable Housing, and Workforce Development .

2019 is an election year in Virginia and HBAV members must be committed to supporting pro-housing candidates of the General Assembly.
