2019 Blues Bash to feature award-winning Jack De Keyzer Band
The Big Easy Blues Bash, the annual fundraising event hosted by the Orangeville Blues & Jazz Festival, is happening on Saturday, February 9, 2019. This year's event will feature the award-winning Jack de Keyzer Band. Much celebrated, Jack has been nominated for a Juno award (Blues Album) on five occasions and has won the title twice. He has also won seven Maple Blues Awards, placed first in the International Songwriting Competition, and earned CBC’s Great Canadian Blues Award from a poll of radio listeners. Opening for Jack will be the popular R&B sounds of Orangeville’s Soul Collective.

One of Canada’s most awarded and in demand blues guitarists, Jack has released ten CD’s and a DVD. An exciting live performer, soulful vocalist, and world class songwriter, de Keyzer performs an average of 150 shows per year and has brought audiences to their feet at many major Blues & Jazz Festivals including the Montreal Jazz Fest, Blues Sur Seine (France), Ottawa Blues Festival, Puerto Blues (Mexico), and the Orangeville Blues & Jazz Festival.

The Big Easy Blues Bash will be a Mardi Gras themed celebration and will include a silent auction and a special mid-evening New Orleans style snack buffet. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and event will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 in advance and are on sale at BookLore, all TD Bank branches in Orangeville, and online at orangevillebluesandjazz.ca.

All proceeds from this event will support the 17th annual Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival taking place from May 31 to June 2, 2019.

Things to Know
Since 2008, Creative Partners on Stage (CPOS) has celebrated ability, inclusion, and diversity by providing both education and performance opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities.
The drama program is a partnership between Theatre Orangeville and Community Living Dufferin and is led by a team of theatre professionals, educators, and trained caregivers.

In 2019, the program will present two different productions. School for Superheroes will run from March 7 to 9 and The Dream Chaser will be on stage from June 6 to 8. Each show involves weekly rehearsals of an original script by two different casts. Like all Theatre Orangeville productions, CPOS shows are supported with professional sets, lighting, sound, design, and marketing. Tickets are often sold out for the three public performances, each making a remarkable impact on raving audiences.

Tickets for School for Superheroes are available now at theatreorangeville.com.
