As my 1st President's Message of 2019 I would like to say it is an honor to be your BIAOC President this year. I am very excited to get started implementing my platforms of: Advocacy, Growing the Workforce, and BIA Membership. I know that with your help we can achieve great things this year.

We are already off to a great start with just under 1,000 registered attendees for our OUTLOOK Economic Forecast that was on Monday, January 28th at the Irvine Marriott. I am proud to have had a member of the TRI Pointe team speaking. TRI Pointe CEO Doug Bauer did an excellent job in his opening remarks, and really set the stage for John Burns to give a fresh, exciting, and insightful presentation.

Just around the corner we have our March General Membership Meeting featuring FivePoint and Rancho Mission Viejo. The Programs Committee has a great event planned, so keep a look out for when registration opens. Your attendance is appreciated to support our chapter and is vital to our success.

Registration for our 5th Annual Women's Conference is now open. This is one event that just keeps growing and getting better and better. With a headliner like Randi Zuckerberg, this is one event you won't want to miss. Make sure to sign up soon because this conference sells out every year.

I also would like to encourage all of you to get involved in the NextGen Mentorship Program. Whether you are a seasoned professional and have some wisdom to impart, or you are new to the industry and would like some guidance, this program is for everyone. I participated last year, and it was a great experience. The format is very open and flexible and allows you to coordinate with your Mentee or Mentor to find times that work for both of you. The suggested topics to discuss are relevant and allows for great interaction between the Mentee and Mentor. I am eager to find out who my Mentee will be this year and I encourage you to get involved in the program as well. I am striving to increase participation by 20 percent this year so get involved.
