A note from our Co-Presidents

We have a fun week ahead of us! First, it is spirit week at Sussex this week - Monday is Wear Fall Colors day! The other themed days are listed below.  

Also, Wednesday is our Annual Halloween Parade! As a reminder, the parade will start at 9:15am in front of the school. The students will parade around the front drive and then participate in some games outside. Parking will be tight in both parking lots and on the street so plan to arrive early. Once the outdoor festivities end the student will return to their classrooms and only room parents will be allowed inside the building due to crowd control and safety reasons. 

Our Book Fair is fast approaching and we are looking for volunteers to help set up/break down as well as assist students throughout the week. Please sign up for a time slot using the link provided below. This is one of the HSA's bigger fundraisers so any help you can provide is very much appreciated!

Tuesday -Sock it to the ghouls, wear crazy socks to school!

Wednesday - Happy Halloween. Wear your costume/something festive!

Thursday - It's November. Wear Blue for National Diabetes Month.

Friday - Get ready to fall back (for Daylight Savings time) this weekend. Wear your clothes backwards!

SUSSEX AVENUE FOOD DRIVE

Sussex Avenue's 3rd Grade Girl Scout Troop 96637 is organizing this year's annual fall food drive. Their goal is to collect and donate 500 lbs of food to the Interfaith Food Pantry. Please help them reach their goal by donating non-perishable food such as stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, canned vegetables, canned soup (low salt), turkey gravy, brownie mix, rice, canned beans, cereal, coffee, canned fruit, baby food and diapers.

Please label your donations in a bag with the name of your child's teacher. The classroom that donates the most items wins a REWARD!

The Morris Educational Foundation is the non-profit partner of the Morris School District. Last year we provided $150,000 in classroom grants in all 10 Morris School District Schools.
