News from the PTA
Spring Fling Excitement is in the Air!
Just seven weeks to go until parents gather to eat, drink, mingle, and party down while raising money for our school. Help us make this event a HUGE success by hosting a sign-up party or by donating a big ticket item to be auctioned off at the Fling!

HOST A SIGN-UP PARTY:
You o r a group of parents host a fun event for as many people as you find appropriate for the specific activity/party. Attendees can be adults, kids, or a combination of the two. The hosts cover all expenses of the party, and 100% of the funds raised by the event benefit Whittier. Prices to sign up for a spot range from $25 to $50+ per person, depending on the event.

Looking for inspiration? Think Backyard Family BBQ, Poker Night, Tequila Tasting, Treasure Hunt, Kids Scrapbooking, or just a casual cocktail party. The only limit is your imagination!

BIG TICKET DONATIONS:
  • Got a vacation home in Whistler, Hawaii, the San Juans, or another fabulous location? Why not donate a week-long stay?
  • Know someone who works for Woodland Park Zoo or Seattle Opera? An exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour would be a major draw!
  • Are you a Seahawks/Mariners/Storm/ Sounders/Reign season ticket holder? Donating tickets is the perfect way to bring the action to your fellow Whittier parents while supporting our school!
If you want to donate you can either email  whittiersf@gmail.com  or pick up procurement forms in the office in the PTA Spring Fling folder.
Email kearnsyetter@comcast.net with any Spring Fling questions.
Call for Volunteers for Presentations from STEM Professionals (2/12/19 and 2/14/19):
  • On Tuesday and Thursday afternoon during the week before Midwinter Break, every class will have the opportunity to see a presentation by one of four STEM professionals (eight speakers total).
  • During this week we will also send home via Kidmail all of the information students will need to create individual projects.
