GOLF OUTING NEWS

After six years at the Naperville Country Club, our new golf outing chairs, Nick Gabrione and Pete Ledebuhr, have announced that the 30th annual Saints Peter and Paul School Golf Outing this fall will be moving to the Cress Creek Country Club.

Because we've held the outing there as recently as 2011, this isn't even the biggest change taking place. After 29 years of holding Monday outings, next year's event will be held on Thursday, September 13.

"We feel this will be a  boon to getting more golfers out to play," said Nick. He went on to explain that most golf outings, which are hosted by a country club, are restricted to Monday's as that is the day the course traditionally shuts down for maintenance. As a member of the Cress Creek Golf Committee, Nick was instrumental in convincing them this would be mutually beneficial to the Club and Saints Peter and Paul.

"Monday's are a tough day to skip work and especially challenging for those who have to travel for their jobs" offered Pete. "Monday sets the tone for the work week and you're behind playing catch-up all week if you miss it. Also, most people fly out on Sunday night and don't return home until the middle of the week. We think it will be easier for men to take Thursday off and either go in later on Friday or work from home."

The duo is also hopeful of more female participation.  For those who don't have the time to spend a day on the course, however, they are planning on continuing to host the outdoor wine and cheese party in the late afternoon which would at least allow the moms to join their husbands for the dinner portion of the evening.

Further information will be forthcoming following spring break, but for now the new chairs just want everyone to

Here are some pictures from this year's outing showcasing all the fun you can have by joining us on September 13.
