Welcoming Julian to Our Team
The Nature Trust of BC is pleased to welcome Julian Zelazny to the new position of Director of Conservation Land Securement.

Ever since he was a child trout fishing in Quebec with his father, Julian has been fascinated by the natural world. That love of nature led him to become the Policy Director at the Audubon Society of New Hampshire, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Land and Water Conservation Association, and more recently an Instructor of Sustainability at the University of British Columbia and Sustainability Policy at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

In his spare time Julian is a professional brewer and home wine maker.

If you are interested in donating an ecologically significant property in BC to The Nature Trust, please contact Julian at jzelazny@naturetrust.bc.ca
Brant Wildlife Festival
We are coordinating the 2019 Brant Wildlife Festival on mid-Vancouver Island in March and April with the help of many volunteers and community organizations. The festival celebrates nature, especially Brant geese as they stop to rest and feed during their migration to their northern nesting grounds. There are more than 20 events for adults and children including wildlife viewing, guided bird walks, a bioblitz and plenty of other indoor and outdoor activities.

The Nature Trust is hosting "genius" grant winner Dr. Sarah Otto who will highlight endangered species across Canada, particularly birds, on April 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Parksville. Tickets are $10 per person and available by phone: 1-866-288-7878 or email: rrivers@naturetrust.bc.ca .
