INNOVATION PRECINCTS STUDY TOUR  | 2019

Adelaide is uniquely poised to establish itself as a major centre for innovation, entrepreneurship and social enterprise.

As the Social Capital Residencies draw to a close, Thinkers Dr Ilse Treurnicht and Allyson Hewitt (of the renowned MaRS Discovery District in Toronto) are expected to return for their final visit to Adelaide where they will present their findings on how Adelaide can strengthen its own social entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystems.

This four-city tour is a unique opportunity to see the programs Ilse and Allyson have talked about in action as well as learning about other innovation precincts across New York, Boston and Austin.

Particular focus will be on the programs and initiatives that support entrepreneurs and make these precincts such a success.

SURVEY | COULD A TEAM OF INTERNS HELP YOUR ORGANISATION?

The DDF is considering establishing a Co-Lab or Collaboration Laboratory. It would be a space where small groups of university students could work on resolving 'real-world' problems.

The Co-Lab would help to bridge the gap between academic theory and workplace practice. Students' skills would be developed through an internship experience focused on an identified problem or challenge with a social justice theme. At the same time it aims to provide a resource that for-purpose organisations can draw upon to support their mission.

All groups (3-5 students) would comprise advanced students from various disciplines including: psychology, social work, media, accounting, marketing and the sciences. They would work on projects that expand, share and blend their various skills whilst addressing a need or challenge that aligns with the DDF's priorities and those of our partners.

We are therefore inviting you, as a valued partner of the DDF, to share your views on the types of student projects that would be of interest to your organisation if the Co-Lab project were to proceed. The survey should only take a few minutes to complete and we appreciate your time.
