CADA to offer Teacher Training Workshops
CADA co-founders, Laura Valendza and Wendy Duke, will be offering four teacher training sessions over the next year for those who are interested in learning their methods and techniques for working with youth and adults on the autism spectrum and other special needs populations. Each 6 hour workshop will focus on a specific subject.

Dec 8, 2018: Theatre games for developing social skills
March 16 2019: Physical acting for body language understanding and communication
June 22 2019: Improv for Autism/Special Needs
Sept 7 2019: Emotion games/exercises for self advocacy and dealing with bullying

Workshops will begin at 9 AM and end at 4 PM with a full hour lunch break between sessions. CADA students and volunteers will be on hand to assist with the training. Ample hand-outs will be available for participants to take home.

Cost of workshops: 6 hours @$150 each. Sign up for all four @ $550, a $50 discount. Contact us at 234-678-7830. CEUs may be available.

Very Special Arts ACT Conference
September 27 & 28
Theatre on the Spectrum's adult company will be participating in Very Special Arts ACT conference Sept 27 & 28. On Thursday, Samir Hammoud and Wendy Duke will lead a workshop on Using Listicles as Improvisation Starters. On Friday, the adult company will present There's No Business Like Show Business, their traveling cabaret style show on the stage of the historic Lincoln Theatre. Interactive Improv with Theatre on the Spectrum at the
Kent Creativity Festival September 29
Members of the adult and youth companies will be hosting an improv for all event at the Kent Creativity Festival! Look for our blue tent on Willow Street!

LOCATION: ON THE LESTER A. LEFTON ESPLANADE BETWEEN ROCKWELL HALL AND DOWNTOWN KENT, OHIO
Artists prepare and lead interactive creative activities that will engage and inspire visitors to explore their own creativity and participate in the joy and transformative power of making art and sharing it with others.

Theatre on the Spectrum presents
Kool Kids on the Tube
a show for all ages!

Theatre on the Spectrum's adult company will present an original tribute to children's television for a two week run in our studio at 1501 S Hawkins Ave. Audiences of all ages will enjoy appearances by some of their favorites, including Romper Room, Mr Rogers and a special edition of Family Feud featuring the Flintstones vs the Jetsons! Find out whatever happened to Animal from the Muppet Show, Spike from Tom and Jerry, and Molly from the Comfy Couch in a segment called Where Are They Now! Super Squad features a band of superheroes who are assembled each week to try to defeat the evil Bowser! Plus a very special tribute to local Cleveland legends Captain Penny and Jungle Larry.

Performances are Oct 8 - 18 with six day time performances and two Friday evening shows. Seating is very limited so please make your reservations early by calling 234-678-7830. We are a wheelchair accessible venue.

Applied Drama and Autism Teacher Training Workshop --
August 4 & 5

Theatre on the Spectrum is CADA's performance wing. Our youth company rehearses on Saturdays. The adult company operates Monday through Friday from 10:30 am - 3:30 pm as a day theatre program for people on the spectrum of abilities, in collaboration with Ardmore, Inc.
