Our 2018 devotional,
Behold
, was born from a prayer to recognize signs of God's Kingdom coming among the world's least-reached peoples and places. Daily entries by Frontier Fellowship staff and ministry friends reflect on the realities of God making all things new-inviting readers to look with prophetic imagination and see the world for what it will be when His Kingdom comes in all its fullness.
The devotional begins December 1. Copies are available for pick up in both service locations, and at the church office.

TONIGHT! DECEMBER EVE
A St. Giles Tradition and Something New!
Wednesday, November 28
Come enjoy an evening of celebration at St. Giles' annual December Eve program. This year's presentation includes a delightful production by our St. Giles Kids' Clubhouse,
"The Light Before Christmas". The program will continue with the decorating of the Chrismon Tree and an abbreviated introduction to the symbols each ornament represents. This is a night to set in motion the true meaning of Christmas!
DINNER 5:45 PM, PROGRAM 6:30 PM. Reservations for meal are closed, but if you'd like to attend the program only, please call the Church Office, 282-9763 so we may accommodate seating.

We Need A Little Christmas

Friday, November 30 9:30 AM - 1 PM.

We'll gather in front of the Church House on Tuckahoe at 5:30 PM for a little vocal warmup.

Then we'll stroll the streets of our Glenburnie neighborhood -- stopping along the way to bless a home with familiar carols and heartfelt season's greetings -- an event that has become a sweet St. Giles tradition. To cap off the evening, we'll come back to the church for Hot Cocoa and Cookies!

If you can provide a batch of homemade or otherwise buttery, glittery, sparkly, sugary cookies for the night of December 16, "Cocoa, Cookies & Carols", please bring them to the Church kitchen on or prior to that date.

 It's That Time of Year!
Tradition is an important part of Christmas. Every year Poinsettias on display in the St. Giles Sanctuary set the stage for the festive events of Advent and Christmas.
If you'd like to order a Poinsettia in honor or in memory of a loved one, please fill out the Connection Card. Orders will be taken through Sunday, December 9 and will be on display from Sunday, December 16 through Christmas Eve. The price is $12.
It may interest you to know that for many years our poinsettias have come from a local farmer, a Christian brother, whose family-owned farm is in Amelia. Every year he personally delivers the pots, and with help of one of his sons, goes the extra step of carefully removing the protective plastic sleeves and placing the flowers in the sanctuary. Later, two of our faithful volunteers, Ruth Calder and Linda Harrison, spend hours meticulously arranging each pot of blooms in an artful display for all to enjoy.

Women's Tuesday Bible Study
9:30 AM - Common Grounds
On Tuesdays, December 4, 11, and 18 Sherry Bremer and Linda Harrison will be sharing "Advent and The Jesse Tree", a presentation based on Ann Voskamp's book, The Wonder of the Greatest Gift.
With Linda's guidance, ladies will have an opportunity to make ornaments to take home and use on their own Jesse Tree.
And Sherry will be bringing a teaching each week on preparing for Advent.
The Jesse Tree name comes from Isaiah 11:1, which speaks about a shoot coming forth from the stump of Jesse, the father of David, and prophesies the coming of the Messiah.
We adorn a Jesse Tree with illustrated ornaments that represent the people, prophesies, and events leading up to the birth of Jesus and use these ornaments and corresponding Scripture verses during Advent to help us remember and celebrate Jesus, God's greatest gift to us.
Who is this shoot, whom the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon?
Jesus, Jesus, descendant of Jesse, Jesus,
descendent of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Jesus, the promised one centuries before his arrival.
Jesus is the one we hope for this Advent.

WOMEN'S FELLOWSHIP CHRISTMAS

Christmas is coming and so is the Ladies' Christmas Party at St. Giles! We'll gather in Common Grounds at 4:30 PM for holiday treats and hors d'oeuvres
(sign up to bring something, if you can).
Following the Christmas Party, those who wish will go to the amazing Christmas program at Derbyshire Baptist Church. Program starts at 7 PM.

Wow, we're already in the last quarter of the year. I want to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who signed up this year to bring refreshments. I'm now asking people to sign up to supply refreshments in 2019. If you will participate next year, please just give me the number of weeks you want to supply the snacks and let me know which option you prefer:
- Pick up the snacks and put them out yourself
- Pick up the snacks and put them on the kitchen table for me to put out
- Donate $20 per number of Sundays you choose and I'll take care of everything

Healing Rooms
Third Presbyterian
The last Healing Room date this year is Thursday, December 6.
The first meeting in 2019 is Thursday, February 7, after which Healing Rooms will resume its third Thursday meeting time. Healing Rooms meets in the Student Ministry area of Third Church, 6:30-8 PM.
