MONDAY MEMO
5th grader Adrienne Desrochers spent Community Service Day working with K-3rd graders on their four different projects. Here she is helping second grader Micah Killam make a turkey decoration for the trays of meals that were delivered to area residents at Thanksgiving.
Greetings!

We hope that you enjoyed a happy and restful Thanksgiving weekend. We are thrilled to have so many grandparents with us at school today, showing their support for our students and their learning!

Happy Monday,
Nelia
NOTES
SKI CHOICES
Extensive paperwork for our ski programs (x-country at Kingdom Trails and downhill ski and ride at Burke Mountain) is going home in hard copy with students today, based on the preferences you shared with us for their choice. If we sent home the wrong set of forms or yours get lost, you can download and print them from the links below; p lease return all forms as soon as possible.

Chaperones - Nelia (downhill) and Mr G (x-country) will be communicating with you soon about schedule and logistical details. Please look out for emails from them.
ICE SKATING
K-8th graders will go ice skating this Friday. Please remember to pick up at the Fenton Chester arena at 3:15.
COSTUME CLOSET ORGANIZING
Many of you know that alumni parent and faculty spouse Rachel Gilbert has managed the chaos of our costume closet ("behind the trapezoidal door") for many years, along with leading our middle school costuming elective. Because of her singular efforts our students have been able to add creative flair and learn some textile arts as part of their dramatic endeavors. Thank you, Rachel!

Parents Jenna Heinrich (3rd grader Clint and 6th grader Nick) and Tricia Bunnell (1st grader Zoe and 4th grader Sofia) are ready to take over her leadership, and for that we are also so grateful! In order to set them up for success, we'd like to have a costume-organizing chore-party on Saturday, December 1, from 9:30 am -12:30 pm. We will let them take the lead and put us to work folding, sorting, and labeling so that they can make good use of the space and resources moving forward. We hope that a few parents will join in the fun, please let Nelia know if you plan to help out.
PAINT AND SIP FOR FIELD TRIPS
20 tickets remaining, get them before they're gone! Parent Tiffany Murray (6th grader Aubriella) is a well known local artist whose award-winning "paint and sip" events are considered the best in the area. She will be hosting one here at Riverside on Thursday, December 6 at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased through Krystal. Bring your own drink of choice and snacks will be provided. Proceeds will benefit Riverside's extensive field trip programs, which enhance our curricula through active learning and from which our supportive community is strengthened.
APPAREL ORDERS
Those who ordered Riverside apparel earlier in the fall should've received their purchases last week, or they are in Krystal's office for you. We do have some extra items for sale if you're interested:

BURKLYN ARTS CRAFT FAIR
Burklyn Arts is a local organization that helps fund art education in many area schools, including Riverside, to the tune of $18,000. Thanks to Burklyn we can go to see professional performances, engage in our play productions, and invite visiting artists to work with our students in the classroom. Burklyn's major semi-annual fundraiser is their craft fair, a wonderful gift shopping opportunity. This year's fair is at Lyndon Town School this weekend - Decmeber 1-2. Burklyn asks that all the schools they support help provide cookies for their bake sale, and so we hope that the Riverside Bakers and others willing will drop off some cookies here at school this Friday , November 30, and then we will deliver them to the fair for selling, no need to package them individually. If you use a container you'd like returned, please put your name and "Riverside" clearly on it.
PICTURE RETAKES
Please let Krystal know directly if you would like your child's school photo to be retaken this Thursday, December 6 . If so, original prints must be returned uncut.
