Leadership Oakland Friends:

Recently, we began sharing the news of the search for my replacement as Executive Director, as I prepare to embark on a new career adventure. I truly love leading Leadership Oakland. However, I've been reminded recently that dreams not pursued often result in regrets after it's too late. So I'm taking my biggest leap of faith ever to become an entrepreneur!

One sentiment from many wise people is top of mind right now -- First impressions matter but last impressions create a legacy.

While the Search Committee begins the exciting opportunity to find the next LO Executive Director, I've compiled a to-do list in aspiration of a stellar lasting impression. See it for yourself:

Faris Alami, LOXX , was recently named to the National Small Business Association (NSBA) Leadership Council . The council is comprised of small business advocates from across the country working to promote the interests of small business to policymakers in Washington, D.C .Faris is the CEO of International Strategic Management .

LO Alumni Named Notable Women in Real Estate
Kirsten Elliott, LOXVI, (near right), Vice President of Development, Community Housing Network , and Jeanette Schneider, LOXIV, (far right), Vice President of Management Services, Re/Max of Southeastern Michigan , were named to the Crain's Detroit Business list of Notable Women in Real Estate.
Silver & Gold Awards Given for Excellence in Leadership
The Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce honored Joscelyn Davis, LOXVI , President and CEO of Jade Strategies, and Pete Karsten, LOXI, President, Baker College - Auburn Hills , at their recent Silver & Gold Awards event.
