What To Expect at #Council19
Council19 is just a couple of days away. Find out from Bishop Doyle what to expect and how to stay connected with us. We will be live streaming the Bishop Suffragan election on Friday, February 22 around 10 a.m., as well as posting the results on the Diocesan Facebook page and website.
  • Parking: Free parking is available in the hotel garage (shared with the Cynthia Woods Pavilion.) Park on the 4th floor of the garage and take the skybridge over Six Pines Dr. to the 2nd floor of the hotel, then take the escalator down to the hotel lobby.
  • Schedule: Council schedule posted Here
  • Emergency: In the event of an emergency, call 911. Please also notify Rob Montgomery. He can be reached at 512.789.4585.
  • Hearing Assistance: There will be receivers available for people requiring hearing assistance and simultaneous interpretation.

Complimentary  Formation Resources Available
Once again, the formation office is bringing lots of complimentary resources to Diocesan Council. This year we have several Vacation Bible School kits, children’s picture books, The Bible in 90 Days box sets, Discovery Series books and Family Ministry curriculums. Be sure to stop by our area in the exhibit hall and pick up a tote bag to fill and take back to your parish formation leaders.

Holy Comforter, Spring will be celebrating the Dedication and Consecration of their New Sanctuary on Saturday, March 2 at 6:00 p.m. Clergy are invited to vest in cassock, surplice, and white stoles. Registration is now open for the next Discovery Retreat at Camp Allen. The Discovery Retreat is a wonderful weekend opportunity to begin the work of discerning one's call to serve God in his church, community, and the world. The retreat is open to all in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. Participation is required for those discerning a call to ordained ministry (deacon or priest). The retreat will take place Friday, March 15-17. Sign up here .
Amplify Austin   is a city-wide giving campaign where Austinites can support their favorite nonprofits and causes. Over 700 nonprofits in the Austin area are participating in Amplify this year, including El Buen. You can show your support by making a donation or becoming a team fundraiser to help raise funds on El Buen's behalf. This year El Buen has a goal of $30,000 to fund our Family Literacy programs,  which include ESL and computer literacy classes, GED classes, after-school tutoring and summer camps for kids. Do you know a 4th-6th grader looking for something fun to do? Send them to Camp Allen for an exciting camp experience during the Intermediate Retreat. The retreat will take place March 1-3.The theme is #FAM Faith, Action, Making Connections and is centered around family—our personal family and our Godly family. The exciting theme for this year's Jr. High retreat is Survivor. Registration is limited. This retreat will provide a safe haven for 6th-8th grade students to ask how to survive this crazy thing called life and develop friendships in the process.
